Ximena, a young woman in California’s Inland Empire, has stepped out of the concrete sidewalk world of the living and into death-by-oncoming traffic. Her reasons are unknown, but her suicide changes everything.

Yesenia, the woman’s sister, struggles to maintain relationships with surviving family members, as forgotten lies and hidden truths threaten to destroy what remains of the family.

Jason, the rideshare driver who hit the girl, is haunted by the memory of murder. The struggles of the past and the realities of today destroy his normal routine, even as he denies being affected by the girl’s death.

As Yesenia discovers more about herself and her family, she remains unsettled by further questions for the man who killed her sister, but does Jason have any answers? What will her family think about her decision to talk to him? And can Jason trust Yesenia’s motivations?
