Wynne didn’t feel brave. Not about that.

Wynne Thar is an elder's daughter from a clan of magic-using heroes. As she steps into her adult role in the community, she wrestles with the pressures of finding a suitable husband and establishing a family of her own – and her fear of what that means. To complicate matters, she must navigate the feelings she harbors toward two vastly different men: Harek, the wholesome childhood friend who she believes isn’t ready for marriage, and Kal, the outgoing craftsman with a checkered past.

When Wynne’s connection to Harek wanes, she discovers Kal to be more than the suggestive vagrant she previously assumed, and it seems that she’s found someone worthy of her.

But Harek is in mortal danger. With a father ready to marry her off and the meddling of jealous women seeking to undermine her prospects, so is Wynne’s future. As life unravels around her, she must overcome her pride and fear if she has any chance of living up to the role she was born to fulfill.
