For Readers
Track what you read, share honest reviews, filter the catalog by what you're comfortable with, and get book recommendations tuned to your taste. Everything below lives in your free reader account.
On any book page, use the shelf control to mark a book Want to Read, Currently Reading, or Read. Everything you shelve is collected on your Bookshelf, so you can pick up where you left off.
Open a book page and scroll to Reader reviews. Add a star rating, an optional title, and your thoughts — you can also note the format you read and whether it contains spoilers. Your review appears right away.
Yes. Go back to the book page anytime to edit your own review. You will need to contact us to delete a review.
In Browse, set a comfort ceiling for any category (for example, language up to mild) to hide books above your limit. You can also use looking for to find books at or above a level, and choose whether to include books that are Not rated.
It's a short, skippable quiz about the genres, tones, themes, and content levels you enjoy. It powers your personalized matches — and you can update or redo it anytime from your reader area.
Once you've completed your Reading Fingerprint, For You shows books matched to your taste, each with a match percentage and a short "why this matched" explanation.
Yes. Turn on a public profile in your account settings to get a clean, shareable link (like spotlightonindie.com/u/your-handle) that shows your shelves and reading taste. You control exactly what's visible, and your profile stays private until you opt in.
Open Account → Update profile to change your name, email, and password, and to manage your email notification preferences.
At this time, the only readings available are those of your bookshelf; but stick around, because we have plans to continue growing in features and tools for readers, authors, and publishers!
This is a work-in-progress and new. You may not see anything because we either haven't had any books submitted yet, they're in a category that is outside the guidelines of our catalog, or we're still working on adding those categories to the list.
