When Merith joined the Thieves’ Guild, he assumed it would involve intricately planned heists, stealing legendary artefacts, powerful relics, and having his exploits immortalised by bards through the ages.

Instead, he found it involved counting stationery, completing paperwork, and doing a considerable amount of walking.

So when he blagged his way into an adventuring party, he assumed things could only improve. After all, an all-expenses-paid trip across Axalar sounded infinitely more appealing than securing another crate of sourdough for the Guild.

He had not accounted for the dusty roads, questionable taverns, a knight too drunk to lead, a dwarf whose snoring sounded like the mating call of a dragon in heat, or a wizardly liability more likely to immolate the entire party than hit his intended target.

As reality itself begins to unravel, Merith and his companions find themselves caught between meddling gods, rival guilds, and forces that threaten to unmake the world.

Merith had wanted adventure and discovery—preferably with his expenses paid.

Unfortunately, the only thing he has discovered is that the Adventurers’ Guild is just a different form of professional inconvenience.
