Review of “The Quantum Signature”

I don’t get the chance to do much reading, especially amid my own writing projects and managing Spotlight on Indie SFF, so when I saw this piece of flash fiction submitted to the site, I thought I’d give it a read.

Flash fiction is a different creature to write than longer works. The writer only gets a tiny space to make a quick point and establish characters. It’s a great way to improve one’s writing for longer works. Steven Nimocks does a good job with this ultra-condensed form of storytelling, and I could also see it expanded into a full-blown novel. I can hardly say anything about the story itself at the risk of giving it all away.

The writer-editor in me had a couple of tiny stylistic nitpicks, but that’s a me thing. They don’t interfere with enjoying the story. The Quantum Signature is an intriguing, quick read that fans of hard science fiction will enjoy, and it’s FREE.
