I love the firebird!
I really enjoyed the first book in the series, but I loved the sequel even more, if possible. I feel like the action, magic, excitement, and humor has all been turned up to 11 and I couldn’t get enough of it. This time around all the characters are split up into different adventures, and I loved how this helped develop their characters and expand on the world. I loved finding out more about the Diamonds, especially the King of the Diamonds, who is a favorite character. Cathy and Alan make friends with a character called Chez, who is hilarious, and I loved every scene he was in. I also loved Charlie’s part in their adventure, and learning more about his magic. I particularly liked learning about Paul’s country and his regent, Reese. I feel his chapters might appeal more to older readers, but I found his the most compelling chapters of the book. The separate threads come together in an exciting, and satisfying, finale. I can’t wait to read what this author writes next.
